I just got back from an interview and i can say it went quite well except i didn't realise i ran out of tape nearing to the end of the interview. -_-'' so dead. but at least all the info i needed was recorded. Just have to faster transcript my interview after the transferring of the recording of to my lappie is completed and see what didn't get recorded. hopefully my memory don't fail me!

But during the interview, while side-tracking a little bit, i was asked this question by the interviewee.
Interviewee: "So what's your take on facilities management in Singapore?' (having know that my course was Project and Facilities Management)
Me: '...................................................................'
I suddenly felt so ashamed that having studied for 4 years in PFM and graduating sooonn, i didn't know how to reply him! I could only tell him honestly i didn't really know much abt FM and i just said some random stuff abt TBP. :(

But it really did dawn on me and i started asking myself what do i know abt the situation of FM in Singapore? the problems faced, the processes, the length of time etc. Like when we studied Construction Technology, Material Technology, Development Technology and Management, and yar STRATEGIC FACILITIES MANAGEMENT, are we learning anything abt FM? I really don't think so. Even modules like Energy Management or Intelligent Facilities won't give us the knowledge of FM. Those are just supplement knowledge that might be useful to the job. We have no clear ideas of the problems the industry is facing due to the short contract terms of FM etc. Maybe that's the sign to really take the mod 'Case Study of Facilities Management' (that is if what is taught in that mod is as described by the dept)

And i was also enlightened by the interviewee abt the actual situation of Design and Build in Singapore. Maybe it is not as it seems and what we have come to know as D&B in Singapore is not really D&B! hmm.. I shall go 'digging' for info relating to this..
