Today i went to Velocity @ Novena Square in the late morning to study and decided to study at the KFC there... Sat down at this empty table that was in front of these 2 guys..my back facing them... as i took out my notes and pencil box.. i kinda overheard what they talking.. they were talking abt some training schedule for a marathon thingy in the next few weeks to come.. and the more i hear, the more i realised that the voice of the person directly behind me was very very very familiar.. tried turning my body to see who was behind me.. but couldn't... only could see who he was talking too... tried looking into the plastic wall thingy to see the reflection.. but only can see outline of the person..

So i gave up figuring out who he was and just plug in my earphone and starting studying.. but i still can hear the person's voice... SUPER FAMILIAR!! then like abt half and hour later.. the 2 person behind me stood up to leave KFC... and they walk past me.. and as they walk to the main corridor of the shopping centre, the guy with the familiar voice turned around and lo and behold... it was Dr Kua!! haha.. pfm ppl shld know him.. no wonder i felt the person's voice so familiar lar... Dr Kua's voice is kinda distinct.. haha just couldn't fit the voice to a face at that time... and who would have thought of one of our lecturers helping another person to plan the training regime for a marathon.. lol..

too bad i didn't realise it was him much earlier.. haha.. else i might have taken out my research methods notes and maybe freak him out.. hee.. turn around and ask him some question... haha.. (but most likely i won't do that.. lol.. maybe will just say hi..)

for a while after that.. couldn't help feeling that it was so qiao...

in the late afternoon went for my last workout for the next 2 weeks.. sian.. but i'll be back in 2 weeks time!! by then will have more time to try other classes.. can't wait.. haha..

Hectic 2 weeks ahead.. study study study study..
guess won't be blogging anything during this period cos it will just be abt studying studying studying... (unless something like what happen today occur..)

Till then.. ciao! :) jia you!

Seasons of Love

Heard this song being sung by the 8 finalists of American Idol...

Lyrics:
525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear.
525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee.
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.
In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?
How about love? How about love? How about love? Measure in love.
Seasons of love.

SOLOIST 1
525,600 minutes! 525,000 journeys to plan.
525,600 minutes - how can you measure the life of a woman or man?

SOLOIST 2
In truths that she learned, or in times that he cried.
In bridges he burned, or the way that she died.

COMPANY
It's time now to sing out, tho the story never ends let's celebrate remember a year in the life of friends.
Remember the love!
Remember the love! Remember the love!
Measure in love.
Seasons of love! Seasons of love.

This song is from the Broadway musical Rent..

When i heard it, the lyrics attracted me...(the tune too :D) Even though the song and the lyrics is simple.. but it sets me pondering...

How do you measure a year in your life?
How do you measure love?
How can you measure the life of a woman or man?

"I Shouldn't be Alive"

One of my weekly shows consist of this documentary on Arts Central.. "I shouldn't be alive"
I would say that after watching this show.. i'm amazed by how ppl have the will power to survive under such harsh conditions.. for so many days... i guess you must have strong determination to survive... not an easy thing for a normal person to do..

would i be able to survive if i'm in their shoes? not an easy question to answer unless i'm really in that circumstances.. (something which i'ld never never want to be in..)

Below is a description of the show taken from Art Central Website:

Using dramatic and harrowing reconstructions of terrifying life or death scenarios, combined with first person testimony from survivors, the series demonstrates the power of the human spirit and reveals the universal qualities needed to survive in extreme circumstances. These individual stories bring to life the crucial moments, chance events and painful decisions faced by those in peril. In each episode, the survivors relive their ‘moment of truth’, when the choice they make could mean a chance to live – or certain death – for themselves or their companions. Some stories come from the world of the professional adventurer and extreme sports enthusiast, the men and women who deliberately confront danger. Others are about ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances and left fighting for their lives. The series focuses on moral dilemmas, crucial moments and chance events as each film
narrates a unique and exceptional feat of survival.

However what we can learn from this show is that nothing is impossible.. never give up when we are in any difficult circumstances.. what we are facing are easy feat as compared to those survivors... deep down we have the strength to overcome anything.. we just have to find it..

if you have the time.. do watch it on Arts Central.. every Fri 10pm-11pm...

Disclaimer: i feel that it can be quite guesome at times to watch.. but maybe it is just me.. :)
