i'm back

I'm back.. and i'm so tired.. maybe jet lagged.. i've no idea.. other then the time difference between Cairo and Singapore.. first time ever for a tour.. 3 days of the tour we had to wake up at either 1+ or 2+ am!! -_-'' just to either catch a plane, start our journey to a certain site.. yar.. seriously in a dilemma abt whether this tour was slack or hectic.. haha.. the 10 days felt soo long..more of it when i get down to blogging abt it.. (hopefully i can start blogging finish before term starts..)

but the experience was glad! all the history and sites i got to know and see.. if i had the time, i wld have just stood there for the whole day and immerse myself in it..

and i got to sit on a camel, took a fulecca ride, sat on a horse carraige.. woo~

on a side note.. all the peeps in the tour gp thought i was in 16-18 yrs old.. *crap*

seriously hate it when ppl see me as so young..

but sometimes i wonder.. is it the way i look, or what i protray to ppl, or just how my pops treat me?

whirlwind last few days.. no post examination celebration for me this time round.. everything just happen so suddenly..

no one wld ever know what actually happen.. we can only speculate..

but i still find that everything was so rush.. it shld be longer.. but at least it happened when we are still in Singapore..

yup.. (after our failed attempt to go there in july) i wld be away in the land of pharaohs and pyramids.. dunno what kind of feelings i would bringing to this trip though.. hopefully everything wld be alright..

just finish packing.. and hopefully i can forced myself to finish the stuff i need to do.. totally no motivation :(

just came back from my first volunteering work in ages!!!! haha.. never expect i would do volunteering work.. esp since now is exam period! lol..

but i kind of like helping out at meet-the-people session.. other then the friendly ppl over there.. also a chance to get to know more abt the problems ppl face, and brush up on report writing skills! lol..

yup but next one i can attend is in 6 wks time.. after exams and my trip.. but i wld look forward to it..

11th Nov 2009 - Yeah yeah!!

its the day i had my last lecture for the sem - PF3101 Project Scheduling and Control

its also the day i handed in my last project - PF3101 Project Scheduling

its also the day i had my first exam of the sem - HR3003 Human Resource and Management

yup.. now its the time to mug for my other 4 modules and work on my dreaded DISSERTATION!!! yes.. i admit i've been busy with my 5 modules and as a result kind of neglected my dissertation (or rather i just am so sick of PPP that i dun even want to think of it!) :p

but no choice.. the remaining of this week will be spent on my beloved PPP dissertation! i have to! then i can concentrate on my studies..

Gambette!! it's wasn't an easy sem with so many stuff to handle at a time (think i was mad to have 5 mod + dissertation.. ppl with lesser mods already complaining.. what abt me? loll) but the sem is coming to an end and hopefully i can maintain my standard~ how to compete with those who have so much more time to study for lesser mod? hmm..

but i will keep telling myself to enjoy the process cause it will be ending very very soooon...

yesterday was a really long day.. woke up at 7am and out of the hse by 7.40a.m to reach clementi to meet my schedule project mates for a 'mini-marketing' session cum breakfast, followed by cooking session.. *the vietnamese spring roll was yummy* :D:D cooking and eating ended at 1.30pm and i went to central library to use the com till 3pm before heading off to Senja (CCK) to meet my HR gp mates for interview session.. dinner was at dawn's place *thankful to Dawn's parents for the delicious dinner* left her place at 8.30p.m.. but due to some prob with the LRT.. by then time i reach home it was 10pm liao.. slept at abt 1am..

by right i shld be very tired and be able to sleep like a pig. BUT i woke up at 5+am from a 'nightnmare' and once i open my eyes i was crying.. and i was wide awake.. absolutely not tired liao.. really.. and the reason for this.. i had a nightmare that dissertation really cannot make it cause Prof. A absolutely did not care abt my progress or work.. and did not bother abt my request abt discussing my dissertation with him..

i think i'm absolutely gg nuts.. in my dreams also worrying abt my dissertation.. but i have a very gd reason.. cos Prof. A have not answered any of the 3 emails i sent him since school holidays!! and my scope of work have not even been confirmed yet! i'm just puzzled whether does he select who he wants to reply cause the others have been sending emails to him and he got reply them.. :( or am i just forgettable (that's another long story)..

guess i wld have to knock on his door this wk.. I MUST..

hopefully i wld have a gd night rest today.. long wk ahead..

A day with myself~

Today is my free day with no projects or class! and i just absolutely don't want to stay at home to do work.. need to get out of the house!! so gave myself a treat.. ate long john for lunch and went to watch The Time Traveller's Wife :):) one of my have-to-watch movies for 2009 :):)

I felt the movie was very good because of the storyline, as said by many who have read the book.. very touching.. a truly good romance movie :):) so now i just have to read the book!! think it wld be even more sad though.. have bought the book but i just need to find time to read it~
flip side was that i was sitted right smack in the middle of 2 couples.. grr.. hate it esp when u are watching movies alone.. grr..

anw.. even though i went out today and watched something i like.. i still don't feel satisfied.. i think i really need to find something to do to feel some form of attachment to something.. currently feeling like i'm just drifting and wasting my life.. :( maybe i shld start on my jigsaw puzzles to slowly work those feelings away.. haiz.. but then i wld have to persuade my mum to let me do that.. sian..

only got to say.. its no fun having 7hrs straight of lessons in a day.. having no proper lunch and early mornings for the whole wk makes it worse.. now my stomach feels weird-hungry yet not hungry.. cos i was gobbling down my dinner.. and i kept thinking i'm not eating enough :x

glad the first even wk is halfway through.. 2 more days.. gg to dread even wks very soon..

Home Alone..

its home alone for me soon~ first time ever and for such a long period of time - 9 days! :p
my parents wld be flying to China tmr at 7am to tour the 3 Gorges.. and then it will just be me at home.. it will be an experience! (esp since i live in dorm in UW) to settle everything on my own.. yeah can cook! (hopefully! if i'm not too tired from long day at school...) and i'm looking forward to it~

wish my parents have an enjoyable trip! their *honeymoon* after so many years of me and my sis tagging along.. hee..

its the same 5 mod per sem but dunno why this sem's timetable seems so packed and my days are so long.. :( maybe because i have dissertation to worry abt.. and then i itchy fingers want to sit in for another lecture.. BUT.. i think the biggest factor is the 2 hrs break in between lectures and the 3 hrs HR class that makes my day soo long.. start at 9am and end at 3/5pm.. -_-'' i'm studying! not working!! no 9-5 pls!!! :(

into the 4th and last year of my studies and today is the very first time in nus i have to go to a lecture alone without any of my friends around to go lecture together.. lucky i was alone in UW too.. so it was not that bad.. met a fellow year student in class too.. hope tutorial classes (and project) wld be fine too.. lots of other stuff i wld want to say abt today but not suitable to blog them.. so zipped..

a note on intern days..

Last 2 days of intern.. can say a little 不舍得.. but then again.. it wld mean the start of my 3 wks holiday before school start!

the past 9wks is a completely diffferent experience from last yr.. i can say it is 180 degrees difference. I think partly why i enjoyed the experience there was that i was able to learn stuff and be exposed to the industry and at the same time have the time to do my own stuff :p yup i shall be truthful.. i did watch finish some of my shows this past 9wks.. abt 20 episodes of diff shows combine? :p but definately not as many as last yr!! last yr's list was super duper long! haha..

but the thing that i enjoyed the most is the working environment, and i really wish that in the future, i wld be lucky enough to be in this kind of environment again. then i wld only dread the time which i've to go to work but not the job itself！through this 9wks i really come to realise that the working environment plays a very impt role in my enthusiasm for a job..

maybe its because the team is small, with 10 ppl.. or that everyone is very comfortable with each other and there is no 野心 among each other and thus no office politics.. or maybe its because they are all stuck together in a ulu site office together for 5 yrs and thus the gd ramport.. or maybe it's because of the lunch 'outing' everyday together.. it could be all this combined together and many other factors.. but i noe that my mentor does play a big part in making the work environment more lively, providing laughter to everyone everyday, and making work more tolerable!

i'm really grateful to everyone in the office for taking such great care of us.. giving us food at least 2 times a wk during tea break.. even treating us to seoul garden tmr for lunch! wow.. (definately diff from the 'ur giving out wedding cake liao ar' comment last yr) yup.. and to 大老板，小老板 and mentor for trying not to give us administrative work to do as they feel interns shld not be photocopying and filing stuff! they wld even say sorry to us for giving us such work and feeling guilty abt it.. where can find such gd bosses!!

too bad i've made up my mind not to have my first job in this sector unless desperate.. else i might just apply for a job here and try and enter back into this team.. haaha..

yup so what am i gg to do for my 3 wks holiday? haha i'll be touring with huifang, weichen, jiawei and lily to shanghai, shenzhen and hongkong! happy happy! first time travelling with friends! (not considering my experience in USA)

i wld be with the couple (hf & wc) for the whole trip.. jiawei wld mainly be joining us in shanghai and shenzhen and some days in hk.. meeting up with lily in hk! sydney and carol for one day in shanghai! and i get to meet charmaine and rita at least once in hk!! whee!! it wld be a memoriable holiday!! meeting so many friends out of singapore!! :D:D

haha and i've decided that when i come back after 2 wks.. i wld then blog all abt it!! in a completely new blog which i wld dedicate to my future travels!! i realised after my US trip that it is a very gd channel to remember my trips and the things i've done! brings back lots of memories upon reading the posts! :D:D haha.. (whoa.. that wld be my 4th blog.. loll.. so many)

If it's such a chore.. why shld i even bother? why? only can rant it out here.. but what am i gg to do for the rest of the day! why did i waste my leave if this is the case? :( *irritated* :(

Clueless

When it comes to matter of the heart, i'm clueless. Yet i seem to always find myself in the position to console my friends and give them advice on what to do. What are the right things to say? I've absolutely no idea! With no experience whatsoever, I wld always tend to say stuff which seems logical to me but yet i know it is not realistic to do whatever i'm saying to them. So how? I guess i could only be there to listen to them even though i wld always feel this sense of helplessness for not being of much help. :( If only everyone could have a happy ending~

truly greatful!

i'm truly greatful! really! its day 4 and everything is gg well! :)) learning a lot abt my future job from the person overseeing us.. everyone is so friendly.. have our own table and cupboard to put our stuff (which is mainly food :p).. did my first measurement in a year yesterday :)) doing work related to our course.. *blessed*

even though i have to wake up at 6.30a.m everyday and the place is very ulu (but there's horses just outside the site!).. at times there is still a large amt of time to stone and rot.. but i'm not complaining! haha can use that free time to do my lit review :p

moreover.. there surprises everyday! in the form of where i'm gg for lunch! lunch can be anywhere cos its dependent on where the driver wants to drive us! haha.. so we only know the lunch destination when we reach the place! (just that we have to bring our own lunch two days per month cos the driver won't be available then.. but eating in office is not bad too!)

this is definately much better then my previous experience! yippee! i'm not dreading gg to work~~

SS501 - the band Kim Hyun Joong (or rather Ji Hoo in Boys over Flowers) is part of! haha.. yup i crazily finish the whole drama liao.. watch the last episode yesterday.. and all the songs are so nice! too bad the songs SS501 sang for Boys over Flowers dun have Kim Hyun Joong (because he is busy acting).. but nevertheless it is still nice!

Excited!! finally got lots of movies to look forward to for the year 2009! haha just went to check the coming soon list on yahoo and i'm excited!! so many blockbusters! :D:D

Now showing there's X-men: Wolverine! haha just caught it with wei chen and huifang.. and it was gooood!!! just that we didn't sit to the end of the credits!! and miss the behind part :(( sadded.. now i want to try and find the movie and watch the back part..

okie.. as for the next few wks and months! long list of movies i want to watch~~

first up is Battle in Seattle!! now showing at eng wah! eekss hope i can watch it! missed it when i was in Seattle (or rather i didn't go and watch it while it was showing there :p)

Finally finally finally...

Finally i've handed in my last project for Year 3.. the last few days was just hectic with minimum sleep..rushing out projects after projects.. so glad that it is finally over and i can start mugging..

today was the deadline for risk and it was a long and tiring day.. to start with the project was filled with information plucked from the sky aka 'poming'... never assumed so much before for a project.. dunno issit we not sure abt what we are learning or the lecturer not sure what he is teaching.. but anw.. today me and carol was just making a mad rush to add in the decision tree and print the whole report out.. it was not smooth sailing cos at the last min we realised a super huge mistake.. too late to do anything abt it so we just 'pom' again :p:p hope HBG don't go and calculate our stuff.. :p then we have problem printing out our decision tree and we were rushing around to meet the supposedly 4pm deadline.. turn out 5pm was the deadline (dunno when it changed to that).. but at least that gave us some time to redo our cover page.. *phew*

it was really a big relief upon handing in our report.. was super tired.. wasn't hungry from not eating lunch and even though it was already 5pm.. but me and carol decided to just go Mac and eat.. pamper ourself a little after such a long day.. *so glad that carol was with me today to finalise everything.. w/o her i wld just peng kui*

Was planning to start studying today cos hf and i booked a discussion room at central library.. but turn out i didn't or rather couldn't.. so guess my mugging can only start from tmr.. hee tonight shall be my rest day.. :p

time really flies.. after the next 3 wks.. it wld mean the end of Year 3.. :( one more year to graduate.. dunno why this year fly by so fast.. maybe because i was away for SEP.. so i must treasure studying cos it wld definately be so much better then working.. no matter how heavy the workload seems to be getting year after year.. come to think of it, year 1 & 2 was super slack..lol

hee i was surprised.. yet not surprised.. :p

During facilities lecture, hf asked if i want to eat lunch with them.. and i agreed.. as the rest have lessons.. so i stayed with carol at irc to do some work.. then carol told me that we would be gg holland v to eat.. and bells started ringing in my head.. :p and the feeling was confirmed again when at 2, hui fang and wei chen were no where to be seen to travel with us to holland v..

Lunch was at Essential Brew and as the meal progress.. i forgot entirely abt the suspicion i had..

happily finish my meal and was abt to try the apple crumble that hf, cheryl & joel shared.. when suddenly the waiter carried out a cake!! *shocked & happy!*

Then present time!

Got a DKNY perfume from PFM peeps *apple-licious!*

And then the mystery gift from hf & wc..

hee.. got my 1st car from them!! and it is filled with chocolates!!

5th March 2009 (Thurs)

After a long day in school with lessons from 10am - 6pm, i met up with Jee for dinner!

After walking around, we decided that dinner wld be at Waraku! considered 1st time visiting there bah.. not counting my trip to pasta Waraku before school term started :p

And we ordered food that both of us like!! baby octopus.. cheese & potato!! :p:p

The tonpei yaki was not that wonderful.. but the potato mentai was just heavenly!! :D:D

After dinner, we decided to try folding the origami peacock using our chopstick case. the instructions were on the table mat.. but haha i got no talent in origami..

So guess which peacock is mine!

After dinner, we were soo full and decided to walk around first before having deserts! Jee bought me to see the 民歌餐厅 near marina square... haha so amazed to see that Singapore got such thing!! must go there one day.. :p yup so we stand outside the cafe and manage to hear a bit of song here and there.. and we started huming/singing along..

the more we hum/sing.. the more we want to continue singing.. wahaha and then jee realised thurs is Kbox Ladies Night!! hhaah so on impulse.. we decided to go Kbox!! time then was already 9.45pm :p:p

Sadded that we have to leave at 12.20a.m... cos need to catch the last bus home.. 2 hrs not enough to sing!! >_<

by then it was drizzling again.. and 2 gals can be seen running across the roads at city hall.. hahah just to catch the last bus home..

but we were late for jee's bus.. so jee followed me home and i drove her home..

wahaha.. after not driving for so long.. i drove in the middle of the night and in rainy conditions :p:p but the worse is that in the end i cldn't park the car and my dad had to come downstairs at 2am to help me.. :p:p *feeling bad*

but thx jee for the company and the dinner! :D:D

6th March 2009 (Fri)

*The special day*

I just gave myself a day off and slack at home for the whole afternoon.. watch all my shows :):)

Then at night, i met up with Jasmine & Angela @ Vivo for dinner at Marche..

My 2nd trip to Marche and my 1st one to the branch at Vivo..

We had to queue for a while.. but the food was good to make up for it!

The 3 of us shared a crepe, rosti, and calamari..

Sat there for quite long before heading off to have desert.. in the end we settle for Haagen-Dazs ice-cream and 3 of us shared 3 scoops.. :):)

Really glad they celebrated my birthday with me :):) and for the dress and belt too! :):)

After parting way with them.. i met up with Joel..

Went over to Swensen at Holland V to celebrate my birthday & for ice-cream.. and to chit-chat abt some stuff..

hee.. as it's my birthday... manage to get free ice-cream from Swensen.. but weird.. they also never ask for any identification..

After that, joel brought me for a little night drive around.. wahaha..

7th March 2009 (Sat)

Met up with dear Charmaine! hee.. requested to meet at Jurong Point cause i haven't been there yet since they revamp the place :p but feel bad cos she is like there every single day liao.. :p

We had 鼎泰奉 for lunch.. hee.. 1st time trying their food here.. my 1st time was in Canada..

we ordered one plate of fried rice, pancake and 10 xiao long bao.. but i stupidly ordered the wrong kind of xiao long bao.. ordered the crab meat one.. which i feel is not very nice.. very dry..

So one day must go eat there again to try the proper xiao long bao :):)

After that we walk around Jurong Point.. and sidetrack.. i manage to buy my handphone cover! *happy* haha..

Then we headed home.. but before that we took the train to the 2 new stations before heading in the direction home :):)

Not forgetting Jas, who i met last wk for gym, who pei wo to walk around looking for the scarf i wanted.. haha didn't manage to find any at Novena Square.. but in the end she bought me the dress i been eyeing for 3 mths from Cotton On! *woo~~* *happyhappy*

hee.. i ended up buying exactly the same dress but with a different pattern for myself.. a pressie for myself :):)

yay so now i got another 2 more dresses!! :D:D

Happy 1 Year Old!

Today marks my 55th post and my blog is 1 year old!

One year has pass since i have started this blog and I'm glad it is still up and running as it does help me to remember all the stuff that i have done before and all the special things that have happen in my life :)

Outing to Marina Barrage!

27th Feb 2009 (Fri): PFM & RE Outing to Marina Barrage

Since i've been to the barrage in Dec, i been thinking of having an outing there.. So term break is the perfect chance to organise one!

Glad that the response was good (though not everyone can make it) and most importantly, the weather was just perfect!!! I think it was the only day in the week that did not rain!!! *yippee* even though that resulted in me being burnt :p:p so now i'm a red face white patch panda... :p

So happen to take the same MRT train to Marina Bay with Xue Mei & Wai Kei... and we ended up being the earliest.. slightly after 9am.. so we took some photos while waiting for Joel, Carol and Sydney..

Then we proceeded to take the shuttle bus to the barrage and met up with Tsz Ching there. We decided to go to one of the pavilion on the dam and we stayed there for most of the time, taking photos, waiting for the rest to come, eating our potluck dishes, and playing all kind of card games :):)

At around 2 we headed up to the top of the Barrage - the Green Roof.

and we started taking all kinds of photos!

There was a pair of girls attempting to fly kite too.. but to no avail.. so the guys went over to help them.. but i guess something was wrong with the kite.. eventually it was up in the sky but soon it went flying off into the distance..

After taking lots of other gp photos, we were all hot and thirsty.. so we headed to the gallery cafe for a drink before proceeding to the gallery to walk walk..

By then it was around 4 and all of us are just tired... so off we went our separate ways for our own programme for the night..

there's this itch inside me to go explore some place (or just go walk walk) and take some photos!!it started like yesterday and i can't seem to stop thinking of this idea.. i have something in mind to start with but the weather is just not corporating :( no nice photos with such rainy weather..

but i can plan my route first and hope to find a time soooon.. even though my camera is not DSL but just a normal digi cam.. hope my little cam can do some wonders :D

i really don't understand some ppl and i hope to be proven wrong.. i see a lot of obstacles ahead but never mind.. written like that what can i say?

anw.. i don't like rainy weathers.. my fingers and feet wld just become sooooo freezing cold... but my body wld just be feeling hot.. grr..

i'm so fulll... think my aerobics in the afternoon have just become useless.. :p

just got back from crystal jade dinner with mom and dad.. kind of early birthday treat for mummy.. food was yummy but my la mien took so long to come that i was almost full with all the side dishes by the time it came.. *what shld i buy as birthday pressie?? hmm..*

and i bought soft comfy (i hope) shoes.. finally!

guess i'm taking things easy now.. cos term break is within sight!! haha.. even though i don't expect it to be a rest wk for me.. lots of activities planned out.. and one of them is the outing i'm organising to Marina Barrage for SDE peeps.. hopefully the attendance wld be gd! but so far it seems like it wld be a PFM outing.. lol..

but hor... seems like some have already went down to the barrage within the last few days.. are they checking out the place to help me think of what activities to do there??? :D:D

and i'm hooked on Spot the Difference on Facebook!!! haha.. think it has been a while since a computer game has cause me to be so obsessed with it.. maybe it is because i can only play once a day?? so i'm eagerly waiting for 4pm to come everyday.. and hoping ppl accept my mass invitations so i can play longer.. *this is bad!!*

i guess i shld learn how to control my mood when i'm too stress.. or rather i shld really try and take things easy and not be too stress out..

i always know i tend to be very agitated when i'm stress out.. and when this happens.. at the end of the day i won't feel gd.. cos i know that i have 'affected' the ppl around me.. i guess the word 'stress' can be easily seen from my face and my behaviour... :(

but it is always after this bout of 'stressness' that i wld calm down and think things through and properly plan my time.. can't seem to do this before the other.. hmm..

It's just the start and I'm feeling suffocated.. guess i have to dig real down and press on..

I'm missing Seattle.. looking at photos and uploading them on facebook have made me miss the walk to classes in the morning, among all the old and beautiful buildings.. the carefree 'school days', the weather (being able to wear nice combi of clothes), the outings, and the friends i met there..

Done with first wk of school.. and not forgetting all the craziness that happened during CORS bidding.. this time round it seems to be one of the worse bidding experience ever.. used up so many points.. but anw.. in 2 weeks time, we would need to submit our dissertation topic :(

i have been crazily trying to think up of some topic to do and was surfing the net for some waste products when i came across this website that looks like it was done by an amateur for a class project. I started randomly surfing through the website and the more i look at it, the more familiar the website became... and it soon dawn on me that i was the one that created this website!! lol.. it was done in Secondary 2 (9 years ago?) lol.. no wonder it look so familiar in an unfamiliar way.. wahaha..

A Samsung Omnia!

I've been wanting it for more than half a year, but due to the steep price i did not get it. But the price is still just as ex.. so i'll be paying for half of it.. but it's okie! this is like my dream phone and i'll be using it as a substitute of the popular itouch... cause i know it wld be too much of me to get a itouch too.. :p hope she does not give me too much problems cos she runs on windows mobile.. keeping my fingers cross!!

Waiting very very patiently for my Omnia to charge up her battery.. can't wait to play with it.. few more hours to go~ :D

Holidays!!

So what have i done for the past 2 weeks back in Singapore?

I did catch up with some friends but most of the time i was guilty of staying at home and watching lots of shows (gossip gal, korean shows, taiwan shows, movies...) :p but i was also updating my USA blog.. hee..

First gathering was on 19th Dec 08 (Fri) with the PFM gals! Steamboat at lily's house.

Carol, Hui Fang, Wei Chen, Lily and me met earlier to do grocery shopping..

Then it was food preparation time..

And kai dong!

After dinner we played some taiwan games and then exchange xmas prezzies.. before heading home.. time flew past real fast..

Christmas Day! But no parties or celebration for me! Rather it was out 'exercising' with my parents @ the Southern Bridges: the Henderson Wave, Hilltop Walk... Been wanting to go walk around Singapore and visit all the places i haven't been since i came back from Seattle.. hee..

Next Singapore exploration stop for me, Marina Barrage! Went together with my parents again.. and this place is really good for large group gatherings! a perfect place for picnics!

My first K-session back in Singapore with Jasmine! We went party world instead of K-box cause it was cheaper. And i had a great time!! Singing both english and chinese songs.. whee~ too bad forgot to take photos :p Before that though, i went over to SIM to find her for lunch..

At night i met up with Jee @ Anchorpoint! :) Ate at tcc for dinner and i had my usual beef tofu thingy! *yummy*

Met up with another Jasmine (who also just came back from exchange in Shanghai) and Angela! hee.. ate this Myanmar food at Marina Square and we basically just talk talk and talk! :):) hee.. no photos because they never like photo-taking.. hard to have a photo with them inside it.. lol..
